Why don't school jumpers ever get lonely?
Because they're always getting picked up!
As we come to the close of another remarkable year at Trinity College, it is a time to reflect, celebrate, and look forward with hope and excitement.
We began our celebrations with the Year 12 Graduation, a truly memorable evening that commenced with a beautiful gathering at St Mary’s Church before returning to Trinity College for hospitality. It was a fitting tribute to the hard work and dedication of our graduating students. We wish each of them every success as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.
Yesterday, VCE results were released, and we are delighted to share some outstanding achievements. Five students received ATAR scores in the 90s, and thirteen students achieved study scores of 40 or higher. Our 2025 College Dux is Matilda Salmon, whose commitment and countless hours of study in our Resource Centre and at home have led to an exceptional result. Congratulations also to Tully Borgia, Levi James, Jen Sharma, and Ellinor Borrack, who joined Matilda in achieving ATAR scores in the 90s.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all students who completed a scored VCE, regardless of their result. Every achievement is significant, and we are proud of each student’s effort and perseverance. The College will continue to reach out to every student to provide support and guidance. Any student or family wishing to meet with me or our Careers Adviser, Julie Demasi, is warmly invited to contact the College.
Our younger students finished the year in great spirits, with Years 7–9 enjoying celebration days at various locations. Last week, we also held our Year 12 Student Leadership Camp, which was an inspiring experience. We were privileged to have former Trinity College student Millicent Kavanagh, now working with the Christian Brothers Formation Team, lead our students through the Edmund Rice Touchstones. Millicent shared her wisdom in an engaging way, and our students put their learning into practice by visiting two Geelong charities. We are confident that this exceptional group of leaders will guide our school with passion and integrity in 2026.
This week, we welcomed our 2026 Year 7 students for their Transition Day. The day was a tremendous success, and we look forward to seeing these students officially join our community at the start of next year.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our dedicated staff for their tireless efforts, to our families for their unwavering support, and to our students for continuing to make Trinity College a wonderful place to learn and grow.
I wish everyone a safe, happy, and holy Christmas season. We look forward to welcoming students back on Friday 30 January for what promises to be another exciting year.
Warm regards,
Mr Paul Clohesy
Principal

Surrounded by family, friends, teachers and support staff, our Year 12 students marked the end of their Trinity journey with a memorable celebration in St Mary’s Church. The evening was a special occasion as students were presented with their Certificates of Graduation and a personalised candle by Principal Paul Clohesy and Fr Andrew. We extend our congratulations to all award recipients and wish every graduate the very best in their future endeavours. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to making the night such a meaningful and joyful celebration. We look forward to seeing where the Class of 2025 will go next.

On 26 November, our Year 10 Introduction to Literature students enjoyed a memorable day at the theatre. With thanks to Jeremy Barren, students travelled by bus to Melbourne to see the Melbourne Theatre Company’s vibrant and engaging interpretation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. All students represented Trinity College with distinction, demonstrating respectful behaviour in public and a genuine appreciation of live theatre. While in Melbourne, the group also enjoyed a quick visit to the National Art Gallery, lunch at the Southgate precinct, and a leisurely stroll through some of the city’s beautiful parklands. What a wonderful conclusion to our Year 10 Literature elective.

We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Year 7–10 students through the Trinity Difference Subject Awards. These awards recognise dedication, growth, and a commitment to learning across a wide range of subjects. Congratulations to all of our deserving recipients.
As we approach the end of the academic year, we remind families that all College-owned computers issued to Trinity students must be returned for an annual review and health check of the device, to complete any outstanding system updates, and to undergo a ‘test and tag’ to meet our compliance requirements. A thorough inspection will be conducted to ensure that all the components are returned in good condition. Please ensure that all components (computer, bag, and charger) are returned to the College.
Students with unreported damage to the College-owned computer must contact the ICT department as soon as possible. As stated in the College Computer Loan Agreement, any damage requiring repair/replacement or intentional graffiti to computers will incur an excess charge.

PARENTS — IT’S TIME TO GET OUR KIDS BACK INTO THE REAL WORLD — Dr Michael Carr-Gregg
Dear Families
The Trinity College Canteen provides a wide range of nourishing food to students at reasonable prices and is an important service that the school can provide to support our students.
The canteen is managed by Michelle Buchanan who relies greatly on the assistance of parent volunteers. The support and work of all those parents who volunteer their time is greatly valued and is certainly appreciated by all that use the canteen.
We are asking parents and carers to consider volunteering some time to this valuable service. Volunteers would be required to start at 9:30am and finish at 12.30pm, working alongside our Canteen Manager and Assistant.
Once a month is all that is requested. Alternatively, you may prefer to volunteer as an emergency ‘fill in’. Fathers/grandparents are also most welcome to volunteer.
Please note that all volunteers in schools are required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC), which can easily be obtained by filling out an application form online at
http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/
and will need to complete an OHS Induction. As a volunteer, there is no financial cost in obtaining the WWCC. However, there is a requirement to attach a photo of yourself to the form.
The canteen relies heavily on volunteers to operate and in 2026 we really need your support in order to fill the roster for the year.
It would be appreciated if all volunteers, current and new, complete the link below by Tuesday 16 December to enable roster completion. We are looking forward to having many new volunteers next year!
Yours sincerely
Paul Clohesy
Principal
